The weather was much kinder this year for your visit , and the programme and organisation, at our end seemed to go well.
The special “Welcomes” at the Niue Tourism Office this year were well received as it was at a very central location, and a focal point for tourism for Niue. Even more appropriate when marine tourism via “yachties” plays a small but vital part in the whole tourism scene. Thank you to Felicity and her team for these events.
Thank you, to the management and staff of the Scenic Matavai Resort for providing two wonderful buffet meals and entertainment, in the luxurious convention centre. A great time was had by all !
We also acknowledged with appreciation the involvement of His Excellency Kirk Yates , New Zealand’s High Commissioner to Niue, who provides New Zealand Aid to Tourism. Felicity (CEO) supports our operation financially. Without which it would be difficult to continue the level of service we offer.
It was a special visit this year as well because we were able to open our new NYC HQ in “downtown” Alofi. Thank to Brian M for the huge task n setting this pleasant environment up. We are also thank the Government of Niue for the allocation and refurbishment of our new HQ.
I acknowledge the support of other NYC management committee members, especially Terry who bore the brunt of getting sufficient moorings ready be laid in the Alofi Bay. The last moorings went down a day before the first yachts arrived.
We as a group of volunteers, also appreciate the patience and support of Magical Niue dive operation and Sea Turtle fishing charters. With their support – often at short notice, enough moorings were available.
Stefano “Thank you!” For your prior contact and organisation with the support from Andrew Bishop, Andrew P and SWade here on Niue.
We enjoyed your company as always, with the generosity of crews towards the Niue Primary School gratefully received.
So a “BIG THANK YOU” to World Arc, for continuing to include Niue as a stop over in your circumnavigation. I know it creates logistical headaches and additional costs for your organisation, but it. Is very much appreciated here. World Arc are a visible presence on the island and gives a substantial boost to businesses and government’s incomes. It also “kick starts” our cruising season.
Thus the “Biggest, Little Yacht Club in the World” is supported by many people who care and provide support in so many ways
No doubt NYC will still be here, ready and waiting for the WARC 2020 in late May.
Kind regards to you all
